Growing Fun

I'm getting so big. It's almost the end of June, and I'm over 2/3 of a year old! I like exploring the new things I can do. Like throwing.

I can throw with either hand (Daddy is left-handed, so he has hope I might be), and sometimes I throw even when I don't even mean to! It's a lot of fun, except when I throw things out of my reach.

Though it does give me practicing at reaching and crawling. I can get up on my knees now!

My main mode of transportation is still rolling. I roll all over the place! I'm also learning to dance. I love to dance with Daddy!

And I love to play with my train, when I'm not eating the parts.

I just have fun no matter what I'm doing!

1st Daddy's Day!

I had a great time during my first Daddy' day! Daddy took the whole day off of work so we could be together. Yay! Mom and I started the day by making blueberry pancakes for him as he slept in. After stuffing our faces, I helped Daddy open his presents and eat, er, read his cards.

Here I am helping him unwrap the present I made for him (Mom helped a little).

I feel it came out pretty well, myself. That's my hand and foot print, so he can remember how cute they were when I was 8 months.

He seemed to like all of his gifts. I just liked the wrapping paper.

After we cleaned up, I practiced pulling up. I'm pretty tall!

All of this work wore me out, so I crashed on Dad's lap.

Then we gave Mom a lesson and she mowed the lawn (and did a pretty good job). After she got cleaned up, we made the rounds of family. First we stopped off to see Uncle Ernest on his first Father's Day. E.W. sure is growing!

There were a lot of cameras going at once! After the photo op, we headed over to Aunt Georgia and Uncle Drew's for some grilling and swimming. Both fun activities, though I really only was able to partake of the swimming. I had green beans and watermelon for lunch. Yes, I thought it was a strange combo also, but oh well. Here I am with cousin Andrew on Aunt Georgia's lap.

It was a lot of fun. Andrew has a lot of energy, and some fun toys that I got to play with. He was doing a lot of neat tricks in the pool that I'm sure I'll be doing in a few years. I was wiped out byt the time we left, and had a great nap on the way home. By then it was dinner time, so we picked up some food and headed home. I think both Daddy and I really enjoyed our first Father's Day!
I love my Daddy.

Playtime

I'm kind of lax on my posts recently, so I'll do another. Here I am playing fetch with Lanie.

See, the idea is, I drop my toys from my activity center, then Lanie would give them back to me. Here I am giving her my teething ring. But she didn't give it back. Mom says that as a cat, Lanie is too smart to play that game. Unlike others, say humans, as Mom always picks up the toys I drop overboard.

I also like to play with my new favorite word: "Dada". Drives Mom crazy when I keep saying it, and Dad isn't in the room. Of course it drives Dad crazy when I say it when he's around, cause I call everything "Dada". So I win each way.

Mom saw I liked the tennis balls that Liam had at his party, so she gave me some to play with. Of course she made me work for them, as I had to push my way across the rooms, using her hands to push off of, to go get them. That's hard work! Much easier to have everyone bring things to me, hence trying to play fetch with the cats.

Liam was done with his jumperoo, so he gave it to me. Yay! I love to jump.

I went swimming again. I like to splash the water. It was a great way to cool off. And I got to play with Daddy!

8!

8 months old today. Yay! I'm dancing on the ceiling!

In honor of my 8 month birthday, and to try to look more like Dad, I decided to grow some facial hair.

Just kidding, it's my blueberry pear oat lunch. Ha ha! Boy, I still look cute- I look good in anything! ;-)

I'm really getting big. I finally got to put my mark on the height chart!

I had a slumber party on Friday night. The Franklin's power was out, so they came over to escape the heat. E.W. and I had fun partying all night. I got the pictures from my first visit with him. Aren't we a cute pair?

It's really hot and humid here. We were buying tires for Mom's car yesterday, and before they could get installed, the power went out in the area. Crazy! We had some wild storms last week, which I thought were pretty cool. We lost power a little bit on Wednesday night, but I was sleeping, so it didn't bother me. Thursday morning Mom and I slept in, with all the kitties on the bed with us. That was nice. Wish Daddy could have joined us. We tried again this morning, but not all the kitties would get on the bed, and I was too awake to nap again. I'm going swimming again later with the 'rents. Splish splash!

Birthday party, swimming- whew!

I'm wiped out! These weekends are just so much fun, I'm pooped by Sunday night. Saturday I went book shopping with Dad while Mom played tennis. Right now I'd rather eat a book than read it, so Dad didn't get one for me. Then we went to my friend Liam's 1st birthday party! It was fun. He had some tennis balls, which went great with my outfit!

I had watermelon for the first time, and I liked it! The real stuff, too, not the mushed up stuff. Nice and juicy = messy!

Today after breakfast Mom and Dad went to get baby gates (I know this is a way to try to trap me) but they didn't get the right size. Hah! They'll never keep me in. Except when I'm in jail. Or my Activity Center. Or my crib. Hmmm. Plus the fact I can't really move on my own right now. I'm making progress! I can push myself backwards while on my belly on the wooden floor.

Here I am on the way to check out what Dash is up to. He's a lot of fun. And now I'm at his level.

We had a nice chat. Anyhoo, guess what else I did today? Swam! In the pool! I wasn't too sure about it at first.

But after some time with Mom and Dad, I started to enjoy it. I was kicking my little legs, and splashing with my little hands.

Then I got a real treat when Dad took me flying!

I can't wait to go again! Then, as if that wasn't enough, I had a real big boy bath. No more little tub, I was a-splishing and a-splashing in the grown up tub! A few froggies joined me, which is always fun.

Then, when I was done, I was eaten by a giant frog!

Ribbit.

Thanks for checking in on me, hope you had a great weekend too!
