Busy Beaver

I've been a busy beaver recently! I had another good weekend, full of fun activities. Spoke with Granma the other day on Mom's new phone, speaker style! I like making interesting noises and faces when talking on the phone.

Friday night just hung out with the folks. Here I am playing with Dad. He likes to drop things on me.

Saturday I went to Mom's tennis match. She wasn't playing, so I went with Dad to hang out and watch. And meet her co-workers, who all thought I was super cute. I liked them. After a late lunch, we swung by to sign up Dad for the White Rock marathon training, where again I got lots of compliments on my cuteness. We were nearby Uncle Ernest and Aunt Mai's, so we stopped by so Dad and I could meet cousin E.W. Uncle Ernest took some cute pictures, but I haven't received them yet to post them. E.W. and I are going to have lots of fun together in the future!
Today we all went over to Mom's friend's house, where I got to hang out with two babes. Two girls babies. One was my age, and the other, my first date Madeleine, is a few months younger. We had a little picnic outside, and I got to dip my feetsies in the pool. Not ready to get all the way in, but soon, I'm sure!

Happy Memorial Day!

Happy Memorial Day! I don't have much of a memory right now, but so far what I do remember has been good. Like this past weekend- good weekend. Saturday Mom played tennis, so I got to hang out with Daddy- always a good time. Then we had friends over for a b-b-que that night. I got to play with some guy friends this time, after being surrounded by my female harem at day care during the week. Colin and Liam are fun! Colin put together my fort, which I'm a little young for still, but it's cool. Liam can crawl and pull up, two things I'm working on, but not very hard at, which is cool with Mom. Yesterday we went to a Memorial Day party in the neighborhood. Always fun to be fawned over by the ladies. Today is going to be a nice, relaxing day with the fam. Dad has a little work to do, as he's very important at the office, but he'll still get some play time in with me. Which is going to really be hard to resist today, seeing as I'm in shorts for the first time!

These seem to be a little short short! You'd be able to see my underwear, if I was wearing any. Wait, what's that white stuff?? My diaper! Really, Mom!

I got my first block set the other day. I can make lots of noise with them, so I really like them.

My hair is getting long, especially on top. Mom and Dad had fun with it last night at bath time. They're weird. Short shorts, hair standing on end, when will it end?!

Eaten by Cookie Monster!!!

AAHHHH!!! I'm being eaten by Cookie Monster! And it's not my Mom! Just kidding, it's my towel. I thought I looked pretty cute in it.

I thought the kid in the mirror looked good too. I really needed a bath after my slobber fest.

I don't remember why I'm so slobbery (or why I'm missing my shirt!), but I'm sure I had fun!

7 months

Today I'm 7 months old. On the downhill side of 1 year, and gaining speed! Mom thinks I'm losing my baby-ness. What do you think?

I think it could be the clothes!

Mother's Day and 1st Date

I made sure Mommy had a wonderful first Mother's Day. First I had Daddy make her breakfast. Then we gave her my present, which I picked out all by myself. I even put my own signature on the envelope.
Since Mom said I liked paper so much, it might be a good time to give me graham crackers. Cool!

They were nice and messy, just how I like my food. I still like paper better. Here is a picture of me and Mommy, and she's wearing the necklace I got her. I also like to eat that, too.

She got her hair cut last weekend, to try to prevent me from grabbing it. Hah! Didn't work. When I want something, I go after it! Back to Sunday. That afternoon we went to Taste Addison, where I had my first date! Chaperoned, of course (drat). Her name is Madeleine, and she's 2 months old. Love the red hair! At first we acted like we couldn't be bothered with each other.

But then I turned on the charm and she couldn't resist bowing down to my supreme cuteness.

After that her dad go wise to the potent power of my smile, and whisked her away. Alas, I hope my dating career goes better in the future!

Toes and tongues

So my two favorite things these days are my toes (again) and my tongue! I have so much fun with both. Mommy likes it when I curl my toes around her finger- she calls it Monkey toes. And now, I've learned to curl my tongue! I can't seem to stop doing it!

Mom and Dad are curious as to where I learned it from, but I have to have my little secrets now! I love to play with my toes too. Pretty tasty, even before my bath.

I even try to combine the two:

Mom says it's nice I know how to amuse myself. I know I amuse her too. I pretend like I'm practicing to say "Mama" or "Dada". I throw in some "maaas" and "daas" to give them some hope. I really do know how to say them, I'm just not ready to. Hey, I showed them my tongue trick! Best to give them things in small doses.

Nurses love me!

So, I decided to spice things up a bit this weekend. I was feeling a bit nostalgic for my old hospital days at Medical City, so I stopped by for a visit. Overnight, as it turns out. I feel great now, but the past two days were a little rough. I got sick on Sunday morning, and that's not fun. It was pretty bad, and Mom and Dad were really worried, so they took me to an after hours pediatrician. The nurses there thought I was so handsome, even being so pale. The doc there recommended that I go to the ER, so I got my first ride in an ambulance! No lights or sirens, though. Got to bypass the waiting room, which is a nice perk. The room I was in had dolphins. I think that's my first look at them. Not real, just painted everywhere. A lot of people were coming in and out, including my doctor! Way cool of him to stop by on a Sunday. My perfect unblemished skin is a bit black and blue now, as it took 3 nurses 3 limbs before they could start an IV. They put lots of tape on it, which was just a challenge for me. But first I need a nap. After my nap, I had some weird pictures taken- they were of my insides! I'm cute even in there. The nurse in Radiology loved me so much she gave me a little frog. Yum. About this time Mom and Dad learned we were going to have a sleep over! What fun! We haven't had one there for 6 months, since I was born. Dad ran home to get me some toys, and stuff for them. Mom and Dad had to share a little bed, but I got a crib to myself. It was a nice sleepover, as I had visitors come it to see me and oohhh and ahhh over me, though at times it would have been nice if they waited until I was done sleeping. I never had a fever, and since the sickness had stopped, I wasn't uncomfortable there. Here is a picture of me after I got my beauty sleep.

I was such a good boy to not mess with my IV too much- I mean, look at that temptation! I only unplugged it twice, though really one time was Dad's fault. They unplugged me early morning, so I could roam the halls. That way I could get more nurses to fawn over me. I heard someone say I had Harrison Ford's smile! Funny, never met him, so I couldn't possibly have stolen it. I passed all my tests, so I was allowed to go back on solids, but they weren't my thing right then. But I had some, so they would spring us. Finally, we were allowed to leave. Sunshine! Nice weather! Home with the cats! Yay! So, that's the scoop on my first (and according to Mom and Dad, my last for a long time) hospital stay.

Baby Jail

Now that I'm all rolling around and sitting up (for the most part), my reward is baby jail. Apparently Mom and Dad think I'll have more fun there, as I can't throw my toys on the ground for them to pick up, nor can I roll off the carpet onto the wood floor. What's the fun in that! Dashie of course came to visit me right away. He's a lot of fun. He just turned 2 yesterday. Here I am in jail:

Mom's USTA season started today. To give her luck, I wore my tennis outfit. I forgot to wear my no-rain outfit. So far she's up a set, but has to finish later, since the rain came early. Oops! Looks like I'll be wearing this again soon!

Mom and Dad also got me a swim suit and swim shirt, with a matching hat. It looks like fun! Can't wait to go in the pool, though so far I'm not too crazy about the heat. Oh well, I have a fun way to cool off.
