Weekend with Aunt Libby!

I'm pooped. I had such a fun weekend with Aunt Libby. I had a lot of firsts- first cookout, first trip to White Rock Lake, first visit to an Irish pub. Whew! I also did lots of rolling over and other cute stuff, so I'm wiped out. She had a BIG water bottle, which was just so exciting to me!

Aunt Libby came in on Friday, then she and Mom got me from day care. Then we sprang Dad from his office (my first visit there) and ate Mexican. Or they did. I got to eat pears. We went for a walk afterwards to walk off dinner. Saturday Mom had a tennis match, so I went with Dad and Aunt Libby to the man's store (Lowe's). It was a nice evening so Dad made dinner on the Egg and we ate outside.

Here I am at my first dinner outside. Dad made ribs (yum!) which were messy (looked like fun!) and everyone said they were really good. Of course I wouldn't know. I got to eat green beans.

We took another walk after dinner. Today was a bit overcast, but not too hot, so we went to White Rock Lake. Dad used to run in circles there. It's a nice big lake. I like being near the water. Here I am with Aunt Libby there.

Afterwards we stopped at an Irish pub for some eats and drinks. I did get a bottle, but not the one I wanted.

I will be very sad when she leaves tomorrow. I told her that she and Uncle Ben should move here. There are nice houses for sale just down the street! Then she can see my cuteness all the time. Who can say no to this face??

Monkey Man

That's what Mom calls me now- Monkey Man. I think cause I keep grabbing everything- her water bottle, her hair, her necklace, her glasses. Really I go after the glasses cause I learned that stops her from kissing me. I mean, I like the kisses, but enough is enough! I have an image to protect, ya know! And big rosy cheeks.

Speaking of rosy cheeks, man it's getting hot out! We had a nice Spring weekend, and now it's in the 90s. In April! I know I don't have a lot of history to go on, but that seems a bit early. We had some nice walks then, but haven't gone since, as both Mom and I have to adjust to the heat. Here I am before our Saturday walk:

I overheard the doc say last week that some kids don't like to wear sunglasses. I didn't know I had a choice! So now I push them off my face. Who wants to cover up these beautiful blue babies anyway?!

I practiced my rolling over during the weekend as well. I like to get Mom all excited by hanging on the edge, so close!, then rolling back to my back. Ha, ha. I did go all the way a few times, as I want to be ready to show off to Aunt Libby. Here I am after one such roll:

Yay for me!

Let me tell you- it's hard work getting my massive brain up off the ground! Wears me out. Maybe that's why they put me in my jammies and have me practice before bed time. Wait a minute!!

Here I am reading to Dad. He's just holding the book, as I tend to chew on the pages, which slows down the reading process.

I did manage to overpower him at one point:

Yum!

Stats update

I had my six month doctor's appointment today, so I got a stat update- I'm 26 and 3/4 inches tall and I weigh 16 lbs and 13 ozs. My growth is slowing down a bit, which is expected at my age, but I'm right on track. Had some more shots- eww. Who could want to hurt a face like this???

I made an interesting discovery last night. If I hold my mirror under the lights in a certain way, I can make new lights appear on the ceiling! Both the cats and I loved it. Here I am in action.

Mom says I'm brilliant- naturally!

The cats and I are becoming better friends. I like to look at them and sing to them up close. Sometimes they enjoy it when I pet them, but only with Mom's help, as Tashie didn't seem to enjoy it when I grabbed her tail- hey, nothing personal, I grab everything! I even gave Tashie a face-plant kissy the other night when I was with Dad on the couch. Some of her fur got in my drooly face, so then I looked like Dad with some facial hair of my own! Too bad Daddy didn't get a picture of that.

Six months!

Hello, everybody!
I'm now six months old. Yay! That's half a year.

I had a good weekend. Granma came to visit for my first Easter. Mom made a bunny cake:

Good thing I was napping during that part. I got a cute outfit to wear from Peachy.

Shows off my legs, and has a frog. I love frogs! Ribbit. That's Granma holding me up. She was lots of fun to play with, and taught me to chew jelly beans, even though I wasn't allowed to eat them. It was just a such a funny motion she was making, I had to copy it! I showed her my toes, and like Daddy, she tried to eat me, I'm so cute:

After Easter dinner (at lunch. I slept through it, since they weren't going to give me any of it anyways), we went for a walk, and since it was sunny, I wore my shades.

Then Granma fed me carrots- hey, I'm not the Easter bunny! Where's the fun stuff- ham, risotto, deviled eggs, Cadbury Creme Eggs?!

Oh, well. After spending the day with her yesterday while Mom was at work, we dropped her off at the airport today. It was a great visit.

Up next, Aunt Libby! Maybe she will feed me the good stuff. :-)

Toes!

I love my toes. They have almost replaced my hands as my best friends (almost, but not quite, cause the hands are easier to reach). It's fun to reach for my toes when Mom or Dad are trying to change me. I like to be barefoot.

Here I can almost put them in my mouth (that's where everything belongs)

Here I'm doing my "Jane Fonda" and showing off my awesome abs. Let's get physical!

I'm so flexible! Toes for each hand!

Uh, oh! Daddy can't resist the cuteness of me with my toes.

Good thing my body parts regenerate- Mom and Dad keep eating me!

Gone walkin'

We had good weather this past weekend, so Mom and Dad were able to take me out for walks again. This time I got to sit up in the stroller, instead of lying in the bassinette. It was fun to see everything. And since my stroller's handle flips around, Mom and Dad were able to keep the sun out of my eyes.

But if for some reason they couldn't, I wore my hat.

Boy, I look cute in anything! Especially when with my good looking Dad. Feel free to comment on my looks. Haven't gotten many comments recently, so not sure my loyal fans are still reading. I can never hear enough how cute I am, especially since my memory isn't the best yet. :-)

Food, glorious food!

At last, Mom and Dad let me use my high chair, then days later, finally feed me some baby food! I've been relaying my desire to eat by watching their every mouthful. And tonight, success! Mom put me in my high chair for the first time a few days ago, but I've been lagging on my blog as I've been catching up on my beauty sleep from the trip. The high chair was fun- I played with my toys as I watched Mom make dinner (nothing for me at that point) I especially love my new game of dropping or throwing my toys, and getting Mom to retrieve them.

I look pretty grown up! Then, after weeks of eye begging, Mom and Dad feed me food for the first time. My straight liquid diet fast is over. Up first, sweet potatoes! Yes, something orange, and great for making a mess. Here is my first bite, delivered by Dad, with an assist by me.

Hmmm, and what was my verdict?

Pretty good! After some more, I decided this was a lot of fun.

Mom and Dad learned that next time, it might be best to remove the clothes when serving orange foods. Cool, naked dinner time! Up next on the menu, peas, squash and applesauce. Oh, and cereal, of course. I've heard a lot about that. When I went shopping with Mom and saw the box, I got really excited and tried to tear open the wrapper. This is going to be an exciting week!
